About The EHS Ergonomics Consultant Role

We are seeking a Consultant with expertise in Ergonomics to join our team on in the Midwest. This could be your ideal job if you are excited about ergonomics and have over five years of professional experience in ergonomics and other general EHS consulting.

The Consultant will be working either on-site at one of our client locations as an extension of their EHS organization or working on a variety of consulting projects from our office located in Columbus, OH, with travel to our client sites as needed.

Essential Responsibilities for the EHS Ergonomics job

  • Independently conducting ergonomic evaluations in healthcare environments as well as in office, lab, and industrial settings.
  • Conducting training on a variety of ergonomic topics, including safe use of patient-handling equipment
  • Scheduling evaluations, training, and support and working with clients directly in a professional manner
  • Consulting on ergonomic programs and safe patient handling program development
  • Supporting business expansion efforts for ergonomic services and helping develop sales plans to encourage growth of practice area
  • Supporting the development of marketing materials and webinars to promote ergonomic services
  • Assisting in ergonomic evaluation tool development, selection, and improvement
  • Managing several client relationships and identifying opportunities for business expansion.
  • Mentoring a team of ergonomics consultants 
  • Presenting and submitting articles for publication locally and nationally.
  • Participating in client relationship calls as an ergonomic expert to scope and price ergonomic projects

Requirements for the EHS Ergonomics Consultant role

  • BS or MS in Human Factors / Ergonomics, Biomedical Engineering, Kinesiology, Nursing, Physical/Occupational Therapy, Industrial Engineering, or related field 
  • Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) or eligible to sit for the exam 
  • Candidate should have 5-10+ years of professional experience. 
  • Previous consulting experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of global ergonomic regulations and standards
  • Experience with 3DSSPP, Snook Tables, NIOSH Lifting Equation, HumanCAD, etc. is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
